GEODOSU PROJECT LAUNCHES THE FIRST MULTI-LINGUAL ADDRESS SEARCH FOR KYOTO, JAPAN

August 4, 2009: The GeoDosu Project announces the start of a unique
multi-lingual address search service for Kyoto, Japan.

Kyoto is the largest tourist city in Japan and 50 million visitors
visit Kyoto every year. However, until now it has been difficult to
search for a location by address in printed travel guidebooks or web
sites. Kyoto, a tradition-bound city, uses traditional addresses
instead of the typical postal address. Unfortunately, until now there
were no databases available with the traditional format.
Initially launched in January 2009, GeoDosu was the first
traditional-address search service for Kyoto. GeoDosu can now search
these traditional addresses written in English like following
examples.

・On the east side of Kawaramachi Street and north of Shijo Street.
・Kawaramachi Shijo agaru
・South of Hyakumanben crossing
・Hyakumanben sagaru

GeoDosu can now help visitors find locations and navigate around
Kyoto. The GeoDosu Project plans to provide this search service via
the internet and make available a pre-searched data set for tourism,
transportation, and geographic information system industries.
